AWLA Nigeria ably led by the National President, Caroline Ibharuneafe celebrated the International Women’s Day as part of it’s Quarterly Sensitization Program on the 7th March, 2025 at the Immaculate Heart Comprehensive School, inside St. Agnes Catholic Church Compound, Maryland, Lagos State.
The Theme for the program was ACCELERATION CODE: UNLOCKING YOUR FUTURE.
To commemorate this event, pupils from different schools in District 2 were in attendance and so was the Permanent Secretary of the District Mrs Anike Adekanye.
The speakers of the day were Oloye Dare Oyegbola and AWLAN Mulikat Thomas who both spoke extensively on the topics:
1. Skills for Tomorrow: Developing Lifelong Competences and
2. Overcoming Obstacles: Resilience and Problem Solving.
The objective was to teach the students the “Code” or essential elements needed to accelerate their personal and academic pursuit. Emphasis being that hard work, skill acquisition and future vision are very key in achieving their goals in life.
It was a laudable and interactive program as students were gifted different items on answering questions and participating in one activity or the other.
The students had fun with the DJ spicing the atmosphere with music which both the students and AWLANS danced to.
