The International Day of the Girl Child was celebrated by AWLA, Edo in Iyoba Girls College. The State Coordinator, Stella Aigbe gave a lecture in line with the theme “Girl’s Vision for the Future” for them to remember that they are special with immense potentials on their inside waiting to be actualized. she also emphasized on the need to say NO to illegal Migration and other Social Vices like drug abuse, prostitution, cultism etc. that can mar their future.
They were also told of the need for the female gender to appreciate each other and avoid the pull down syndrome which exist among the female gender. A written note was also read to them to remember at all time who they are and that they have a bright future.
We also shared flyers to the students as a reminder of all they have been taught and snacks was given to them as a way of appreciating them.
The State coordinator was accompanied by some AWLANS to the event…Phillipa Enabulele and Kerry.
The school management responded by appreciating our impactful lecture and show of love and further said this will go a long way to put them on the right path to actualize their bright future.
