Earlier today, African Women Lawyers Association ( AWLA) Anambra State, celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child at Queen’s Convent College, Aroma, Awka, with the theme “Girls’ Vision for the Future.”
As our dynamic Secretary, Violet Umenwofor Ezekwike, addressed the students, she reminded them that as part of a powerful generation, they have the right to shape their own destiny. Our interactive session focused on crucial aspects of their lives which includes;
1. Education as the foundation of success.
2. Self-love and perseverance .
3. Health and well-being .
4. Reproductive health and Menstruation.
5. Learning from setbacks and failures.
6. Positive Behaviour and Values.
7. Setting goals and plans.
8. Seeking guidance and mentorship
9. Sexual reproductive Rights
Alongside my colleagues, our engaging discussion empowered the students of the school, encouraging them to become leaders and change-makers of tomorrow. We instilled confidence, emphasizing that their voices matters and they can make a difference.
