AFRICAN WOMEN LAWYERS ASSOCIATION (AWLA), RIVERS STATE BRANCH EXECUTIVES PAYS COURTESY VISIT ON THE PRESIDENT OF THE RIVERS STATE CUSTOMARY COURT OF APPEAL; HONOURABLE JUSTICE I. W OBUZOR.

The Coordinator of AWLA Rivers State Branch, Gloria Anuri Ohia Amb. P. MCIArb (UK) FICMC, led some of her cabinet members on a courtesy visit on the President, Rivers State Customary Court of Appeal in Obio, Rivers State.
During the visit, the Coordinator reintroduced AWLA as an organization and what we represent. She respectfully called for a stronger and weightier collaboration with the Customary Court of Appeal alongside the Judges, various Chairmen of the Customary Courts and their Members. She stressed that this will strengthen AWLA Rivers partnership with the Court for an effective and efficient coverage of AWLA’s activities in relation to the rights of Women and children customarily.

AWLA Rivers Welfare 1 (Ojinika Igbojionu), Treasurer ( Augusta Onuh) and Kate Owamagbe (a non-exco but a committed member of AWLA Rivers State Branch).

The President of the Customary Court of Appeal in his response, pledged his total support to AWLA Rivers as the Association continues to fight for the rights of Women, Children and Men especially in the area of sensitization of Rivers State Customary Laws and it’s application. Mi Lord the President in granting AWLA Rivers prayers as prayed, reiterated the need for AWLA Rivers to keep up the good work, making her activities public for a wider coverage of the populace education cum enlightenment.
