Dear AWLANS,
It is with pride and a sense of fulfillment that I address you today on the election of a new EXCO to pilot the affairs of AWLA Nigeria for the next three years. I want to start by thanking you for the immense support I got from you during my tenure as your President, especially the vote of confidence given to my exco at the last EGM.
I knew when I took office that the challenges to make a difference would be enormous and they were; but through team spirit, and with the support of a professionally managed secretariat we managed to establish AWLA Nigeria firmly in the hearts and minds of all those beneficiaries of our programs.
As I handover today, I pledge not only my loyalty to the new EXCO, but I will continue to the best of my ability to support the work of AWLA Nigeria.
I want the incoming EXCO not to have any illusions about the task ahead of them. There will be distractions to add to the sheer enormity of the task ahead but I ask you to look at faces of the most vulnerable in our society who we have pledged to help and not give up. Take satisfaction in the smiles and hope you bring to our women and young girls. That should be sufficient to propel our Association to greater heights.
Let me end by thanking the electoral committee for organizing a flawless election and once again congratulations to our new officers.
